Lincolnshire Holiday Suggestions & Ideas
Bathing Beauties
The beach hut is perceived as a treasured feature of our coastal landscape, as quintessentially British as fish and chips. The Bathing Beauties project of 2007 was conceived by Michael Trainor, lead artist on the Lincolnshire coast. His big idea was to create a series of dramatic and beautiful new seaside architecture for a superb but partly forgotten 10 mile stretch of Lincolnshire coastline, from Mablethorpe to Anderby Creek. The new designer beach huts built as a result of the international Bathing Beauties Competition have now been installed, they include: Jabba by i-am associates, in the dunes at Seaview Carpark North Mablethorpe; The Mablethorpe Camera Obscura by Willett and Patteson; Come Up and See Me by Michael Trainor; Eyes Wide sHut by Feix and Merlin at 37 Mablethorpe South Promenade and Halcyon Hut by Atelier NU at 68 Sutton South Promenade.
