Down on the Farm
All Creatures Great and Small are waiting to meet you down at the Farm. Many farms now open their doors, or should that be gates to the general public. Down at the farm there are lots of hands-on activities every day. You can bottle feed lambs and piglets; bath a pig; hold small animals; feed the cows and sheep; talk to the donkey, collect the eggs; cuddle a rabbit; groom a pony and help round up the sheep. Farms are also wonderful places to learn about farming methods past and present. Giving children the opportunity to see where their food actually comes from. Many farms attract visitors by providing all weather venues, with both indoor and outdoor pursuits, plus good catering facilities, which enable you to stay for a few hours or if you wish a whole day. A visit to a farm makes for a great activity day out for you and your kids. Or you can just enjoy the calm of a wonderful rural setting.
