| Back to 1768 to get Married! Berthed on the beautiful River Tees at Stockton-on-Tees County Durham, is a full size replica of HM Bark Endeavour, Captain James Cook's famous ship which he sailed on his first voyage of discovery to Australia and New Zealand in 1768. The Endeavour is licensed as a venue for Civil Marriages and is an inspired setting for your Wedding ceremony or reception. The vessel makes a fantastic backdrop for those cherished wedding photographs. An honour guard of Royal Marines in period costume can be arranged for that extra slice of flair. Exclusive catered private functions can be accommodated in the great cabin or for larger numbers on the main or Orlop deck. |
Next stop - the clouds! Float up, up and away on one of Virgin's hot air balloons. Bishop Auckland, is the site of one of their most majestic launch-sites, complete with its own castle. You might find yourself drifting serenely over the nearby North York Moors or the lovely Yorkshire Wolds as you watch a constantly changing procession of heather moors, rolling hills, picturesque country towns and historic houses disappear beneath you. With so much to see in every possible direction and so much history to absorb, the region is certainly suited to aerial and ground-based exploration. Whatever the direction the wind takes you, you are guaranteed a truly memorable flight and a warm welcome in this famous, beautiful and historic county. |
